Experiencing, Proclaiming, and Extending God’s Love to our World

From the top of the picturesque Sandia Mountains to the quiet whisper of the winds through the Bosque, we are able to experience God in everything around us.  Join us on a journey where we study God and experience His majesty in our everyday lives!

When we walk in Fellowship with our Lord, and experience happiness beyond all compare as a child of God, it is impossible not to proclaim the joy that we have to the outside world.  At our church we proudly proclaim that Jesus is King of Kings and Lord or Lords!

While experiencing the awesome wonder of God and proclaiming our love for Him, we are dedicated to extending the love and grace that God has shown us to the rest of the world.  We extend to you an invitation to be a part of our family, the Family of God!

First Baptist Church Tijeras is a family-oriented, rural Church
At FBC Tijeras, we love to study and apply the teachings of Jesus Christ to our daily lives.  Our church is located in Tijeras, a welcoming mountain town where we enjoy a quiet peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city while worshiping at a country pace.  We offer Life Connection and Bible Study classes for all stages of life, children’s ministry, a music/praise environment featuring both contemporary and traditional music, as well as several opportunities to serve our local East Mountain community.
We warmly offer you an invitation to visit us at our place of worship, and to come just as you are.  Whether you are in search of answers, are a new believer, or have been a Christian for many years, you will have a home at FBC Tijeras!
We invite you to join us on Sunday Mornings for
Life Connection (9:30AM) and Worship Service (10:50AM)

Where can God use your talents?

We have an enthusiastic worship team that features both contemporary and traditional music.  If you have a passion for helping others experience a vibrant worship service, and have an interest in participating in either instrumental or vocal music, we want to hear from you!

We have an active ministry to provide much needed food for children in our local East Mountain community.  We regularly pack lunches for these kids to take home on the weekends, and are always in need of additional food and help preparing the lunch bags.

We have an active children’s ministry, where kids learn firsthand the love and hope promised by God’s word.  We also operate a Sunday children’s nursery during Bible Study and Worship Service.  If you have a love for children, and are interested in volunteering, please let us know!

Our worship services utilize a variety of audio/visual technologies in order to encourage full and active worship of our Lord.  We also use a variety of web-based technologies for outreach in the local community.  If you have an interest in helping with these A&V or technology ministries, we would love to hear from you!

Our church facilities, such as the worship center and fellowship hall, require regular upkeep on a weekly basis.  We have need for volunteers to help in a variety of roles including maintenance, custodial services, and kitchen duties.  Please let us know if you have an interest in contributing to this important ministry!

An important ministry for extending God’s love to our local East Mountain community is through the operation of our local Food Pantry.  If you have an interest in volunteering to provide food for our community (the pantry operates multiple days per week), please let us know!

3/24/2020 – Our update to COVID-19
Hello Church Family,
I hope everyone is doing well and I hope everyone is staying calm through this time. I want to thank everyone who watched our Sunday service online and those that did attend here at the church, (all 10 of us) unfortunately with the new rule by the Governor we will only be able to have 5 doing our service, but the church will be open for prayer and I am here almost every day. We had a great turn out online as people from several states like Nevada, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas and several others and even someone in Australia tuned in, wow what a great way to spread God’s word, good job Dominic getting that set up and thanks to David and Shawna for helping with the service. We will continue to do our services online until this is over and we can meet in person again. We are also working on online giving so that should be up very soon, in the meantime if you want to stay faithful in your tithes and giving you can mail them to the church at PO Box 58 Tijeras, New Mexico 87059. Or you can call me and I will meet you at the church. I want to remind all of us this is a time that we need to turn to God in prayer, guidance, strength and hope, and remember that He is in control. We need to reach out to each other and encourage one another and help those that need it, we never know when you might be someone’s support beam or who will be yours. I want to thank Kari for being my support beam not just through this but through the attacks that often come my way. Now is not the time to attack the church or each other it’s just the time to show our love for Christ by loving and supporting the church and each other. I want to thank you for allowing me to be your Pastor and remind you we have great times ahead of us. I want to leave you with a few verses that I hope will help you through your day. Always remember to pray for each other, our church, community, country and world.
Psalm 29:11 May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!
Isaiah 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
In His Love
